Each section can be a single line or a full page depending on the engagement. The order matters — outcome and scope first, terms and acceptance last.

Tips

  • Lead with the outcome, not your company background. Save the bio for an appendix.
  • Always include an out-of-scope list. It feels uncomfortable but it prevents 80% of disputes.
  • Price optional add-ons individually so the buyer can opt in without rewriting the proposal.
  • Set a validity date. 14–30 days is standard.

Frequently asked questions

Should the proposal be a PDF or a web link?
Both work. A link lets you track opens and follow up; a PDF is easier to forward internally for approval. Sending both is common.
